David
OWNER
David has been in the optical industry since 1992, starting in Minneapolis as a store manager. He then traveled all over the Midwest and Canada as a sales rep for Alain Mikli, Mykita, and Dita. David moved to Chicago in 2013 to manage a successful independent optical store. Now in San Diego, he brings his knowledge and experience to the local community. Laughter and customer service are very important in his life, as is a dry martini!

Dr. Melody Tavakoli, O.D., is a compassionate and highly skilled optometrist committed to providing exceptional eye care to patients of all ages. With a strong educational foundation from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, and the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry, where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Tavakoli combines expertise with a patient-centered approach to eye health.
With years of experience spanning various settings—including private practice, ophthalmology clinics, community health centers, and veteran care—Dr. Tavakoli has developed a deep understanding of both routine vision care and complex ocular conditions. She specializes in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, dry eye management, and the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Her background in medical optometry allows her to provide advanced care, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of treatment for their visual and overall eye health.
Beyond her practice, Dr. Tavakoli is passionate about giving back to the community. She has participated in international vision missions, providing eye care and glasses to underserved populations in countries such as Mexico, Peru, Kenya, and Guatemala. She also remains actively involved in professional consulting and education, working with industry leaders like Johnson & Johnson to advance the field of optometry.
Known for her warm and friendly demeanor, Dr. Tavakoli believes that great eye care starts with truly listening to her patients. She takes the time to understand each individual’s unique needs and concerns, ensuring they feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care. Whether you need a routine eye exam, specialized medical treatment, or expert contact lens fitting, Dr. Tavakoli is dedicated to helping you achieve optimal vision and eye health.
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Tavakoli enjoys fitness, baking, and traveling. She speaks English, Spanish, and Persian/Farsi, allowing her to connect with a diverse range of patients.
